Galopin Des Champs, last season’s Cheltenham Gold Cup winner, is odds-on with most bookmakers to defend his title at next month’s Festival meeting after making all the running to beat Fastorslow for the first time in three attempts in the Irish Gold Cup on Saturday.
Galopin Des Champs had finished behind Fastorslow in two races at Punchestown since his win at Cheltenham last March, but he stayed on strongly to go four-and-a-half lengths clear at the line after jumping the last just a length in front of the second-favourite. Continue reading...
